- Gracie Abrams made the most adorable post about Paul Mescal on Instagram.
- The pop star praised Paul's performance in Hamnet, which recently scored a few Golden Globe awards.
- Paul and Gracie typically keep their relationship pretty private.
The year is 2026, and yes, Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal are still going strong—so strong, that Gracie quite literally gave Paul the sweetest shoutout on Instagram, meaning that fans are weeping inconsolably because they will never get to be one half of their relationship. Sucks to suck, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Gracie took a moment to praise Paul's latest movie, Hamnet—in which her boyfriend for taking on the role of humanity's most famous playwright, William Shakespeare—and its director Chloe Zhao and his movie co-star Jessie Buckley, who plays his wife, Agnes in the film.
“Okay so,” she captioned an adorable picture of Paul and Jessie together. “I've found it nearly impossible to find the words to describe the weight of this film and the way it has remained in my bones since I saw it for the first time” she wrote across the image. “But here we are sat in the kitchen right now and I am looking back on these pictures and got immediately teary, so I'm just going to say that Chloe is singular. Jessie singular. Paul is singular. Thank god for what they made. Go see it and you will be better off.”
And for good measure, she added a picture of Paul smoking a cigarette while wearing a Shakespeare t-shirt and wrote, “Also I love him surprise.” *cries in single*
The praise isn't unwarranted, either. Jessie nabbed picking up both the Critics Choice Award and Golden Globe for Best Actress, and the film itself also won Best Film at the Globes. Gracie and Paul didn't walk the red carpet together at the Golden Globes, but she did meet up with him at a swanky after-party.
While the two are relatively tight-lipped about their relationship, Paul did open up juuuust a smidge about his relationship with Gracie during an interview with Rolling Stone. When asked why he chooses to keep their bond low profile, he said, “Everything to do with that is deeply precious to me. I want to protect those things fundamentally.”
